Frequently Asked Questions

What is the mission and purpose of Compassion for Others (CFO Ministries)?

Our mission is to help improve the quality of life for those who are disadvantaged and having needs.  The purpose and mission of CFO Ministries is founded upon Biblical Scripture in Matthew 22:37-40.  In this passage of Scripture we are all instructed, to love the Lord first, and then to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.  We believe that our lives should reflect the love of Christ who lives in the hearts of every believer.

Is CFO Ministries a church organization?

The members of the CFO Board, the Director and those who volunteer to serve with CFO Ministries attend various churches and places of worship in their own communities.  We each believe in the importance of CFO Ministries mission and purpose.  The donations received by CFO Ministries provide the funding for the various projects and events. Gifts are tax-deductible as permitted by law.  CFO Ministries is registered as a 501(c)3 nonprofit with the IRS.  More information about Compassion for Others (CFO Ministries) and a copy of our license/authority to operate is available from the North Carolina Secretary of State Office, Raleigh, NC.

North Carolina Flood Relief

Donations which are received for the NC Flood Relief provide support and assistance to families who are recovering from storm damage. CFO Ministries is visiting various areas in NC to offer help.  We prayerfully consider how to best serve those affected.  We recognize individual needs are different and that these will continue for some time.  Some of those impacted live in areas that are difficult to access.  If you are considering a donation to CFO to provide help, may we recommend monetary gifts or a gift card to a  store to purchase groceries. These will be most helpful as we review how to best serve and help  in an area of WNC.  Monetary donations may purchase food, clothing, daily essentials or help with needs for repairs of damage.  One-hundred percent (100%) of designated gifts will be used to help those in WNC.  Donation may be mailed to CFO Ministries or by using the web link directing you to PayPal.
