About Us

Our Mission and Purpose

In Matthew 22:37-40, we are taught to:

"Love the Lord with all of our heart, with all of our soul and all of our mind" and we are also to "love our neighbor as ourselves ..."

The mission and purpose of Compassion for Others is to show our love for the Lord, and then for others.

Our desire as a nonprofit is to display a servant heart as we seek to follow these commands and to always show kindness and respect for others.  With servant hearts we will seek to make a difference in the lives of others, and especially those in need.  We will give Him the honor for each opportunity we are given to serve.

About CFO Ministries

Compassion for Others is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and began in 2010.  We are a human services organization. We are also faith-based.  All who serve with CFO do so on a voluntary basis.  We demonstrate love for our neighbors through service in various ways.  We have served in group homes for children and to seniors in a residential care setting.  We have served within the homeless community, and we have provided essential needs and food to families in low-income neighborhoods.  In 2019, we were honored to work in coordination with county government in Lumberton, NC and provided needs to families impacted by Hurricane Matthew. In the summer of 2019, CFO had an opportunity to join with a church mission team and serve needs in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

In 2024, after areas of Western North Carolina were flooded by Hurricane Helene, CFO Ministries has, along with so many others tried to help families in need of food, supplies and life essentials.

In 2022, when Ukraine was invaded by Russia, Compassion for Others began an international arm of our ministry to help with humanitarian needs of Ukrainian refugees.  Our ministry arm is called Compassion4Ukraine and today serves to help orphans and the widows of fallen soldiers. Our assistance to these is coordinated through our boots-on-the-ground ministry partner in the western mountains of Ukraine.

You are encouraged to join with our ministry by praying for Ukraine and for an end to this war.  We also seek your help that we may do all we can to help alleviate the suffering.  Every donation dollar (100%) will be directed to help with these needs in Ukraine.  Additional information can be found at the link below:  www.cfomin.org/compassion4ukraine

Thank you for praying for Compassion for Others.  God continues to bless us, and we know He will continue to bless the work that is done for Him.
